Over the weekend of 23/25 June James Troop & Co Ltd exhibited at the Northern Boat Show which was part of the River Festival on Liverpool’s Albert Dock.
This was our second successive year at the show and we built upon the success of 2016 with the valuable support of Volvo Penta who kindly provided equipment for display. Items included a “state of the art” IPS simulator to demonstrate the inboard propulsion system, dynamic positioning software and joystick steering all of which contribute to ‘easy boating’. The simulator was very popular with visitors, some of whom had never experienced this technology before.
Another eye-catching exhibit on our stand was the D3-220 engine fitted with a dual propeller system and which provided a good contrast with the D1-20 also on display. Being able to demonstrate the various engine ranges was a real success for us at the show and enabled us to target a larger market.
While the Boat Show was a popular attraction, there were a number of events being held around the Albert Dock and Pier Head over the weekend. On the Saturday Liverpool played host to the ninth annual Armed Forces Day, honouring the work and dedication of our brave Servicemen and women. There was also displays by the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight as well as marches through the city centre by serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans and cadets.
We would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the event organisers Richard Milbourn & Victoria Dunsmore for their excellent work and also to Volvo Penta for once again supporting James Troop & Co in our local area.
